Steering Shaft
Connecting the steering column to the gearbox or rack and pinion is the intermediate steering shaft. This component, which typically incorporates a steering universal joint on each end, allows the steering gear and column to be slightly off center to each other. Over time from use and corrosion, the ends of the shaft can degrade, requiring replacement.

Confirm the adapters on each end of of the steering shaft will fit the steering column output shaft as well as the gearbox/rack and pinion input shaft.
