Rated 2 out of 5 by from Third times a charm? I have a B&M Star shifter in my '81 Ford F100. This is the third kit like this I have purchased. The plastic slider keeps breaking. It happened twice this winter so maybe it is not designed for the cold weather. If it wasn't for the fact that it controls the ignition safety switch and backup light I would not replace. I even looked into purchasing a entirely different shifter but really couldn't afford to do that. B&M uses this same setup on a lot of their shifter. Wish they had one that was more robust. Obviously if they are selling a replacement kit, breakage is an issue.
