Rated 1 out of 5 by from Motor building I got this motor about 6 months ago to a year it's been sitting on the shelf on a motor stand I just now got the truck finished I put the motor in the truck went through all the details everything on how to crank it up break it in everything and everything went fine and now that when you crank the motor up you're a tapping sound on the top part of the motor which I pulled the valve covers off check the rocker arms all the rocker arms are still good and tight but I still have the same tapping not for sure if it's a bent push rod because if it was a collapsed lifter you would lose all pressure which I have excellent oil pressure but I still have that tapping sound coming from the driver side of the motor but I can't figure out what the tapping is coming from it may be a bent push rod because all the rocker arms are the weather supposed to be and it's a excellent running motor except for the tapping in the top part of the heads nothing's been changed on it since I've got it from blueprint but I'm trying to understand or figure out what the tapping is on the motor I want to rate this motor the way it should be rated and not lie about it but I tried to call people at blueprint to ask them questions about this situation and I eat being put on hold and people not answering the phone so I don't want to rate them bad but I want to rate them the truth but I asked for help and I get none from it's hard to believe that blueprint will allow something like this to leave their factory damaged but I keep asking questions but I keep getting no answers so I would like to know something

What starter do I need to use

    Asked by: az4702
You would use a standard SBC 350 starter, these blocks will be drilled for both a straight bolt pattern and a staggered mount.

Does this engine come with a fuel pump rod? If not what part number is best.

    Asked by: Jeepcjguy
This engine will not come with a fuel pump pushrod installed, but any pushrod for a standard Small Block Chevy (no bronze tip) will work with this engine and camshaft.

This engine cannot be had with another cam but this is a fairly mild roller cam that starts making good torque around 1500-1800rpm.
