- Stock/stamped steel valve covers may require 3/16" (or thicker) valve cover gaskets. We recommend 555-21100, 555-210075, or 555-210070 for adequate runner clearance.

Started first crank
Looks great, no noticeable casting defects. Bolt holes machined correctly. Right side center two bolts were a bit challenging to get started. Some relief cuts would be nice,. And that is with the Jegs intake bolt kit. I couldn't imagine using the factory hardware. Motor started first crank, still need some other work before I can drive it but I cant wait.

Really helped performance.
Liked the intake manifold works well. Had to do some clearance on the valve covers to fit around the intake runners even with the thicker valve cover caskets. The product description did talk about it and glade I read this advance.

What is the thread size of the water temperature sending unit port on the front drivers side corner?
The thread size on the Jegs 555-513000 drivers side corner is 3/8 npt.

Will this intake work with a 1979 Corvette and allow clearance for the hood to close
You will need to change the air cleaner to get more clearance when using this intake, it will not fit with the stock style air cleaners.
