    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great build quality, design improvements over OEM I had previously built a custom steering shaft from two old OEM shafts, but the u-joints on that shaft wore out turning my 37" HMMWV tires and wheels. I debated whether to purchase another OEM shaft and just lengthen it for my custom rock-crawler Jeep Comanche, or buy all new aftermarket components and build one from scratch. It was more expensive by far to build one with aftermarket components, but I decided to go that route. Once I received the components and compared the aftermarket to the OEM, the aftermarket components were much beefier. And by that I mean that there was material everywhere there could be to make the joint stronger without increasing the overall size and making it hard to fit in the vehicle. The u-joints are staked in just like OEM (not serviceable but can never get loose), the shaft ears are radiused to increase load capacity, and the fit of the joints over the shafts was precise. The set screws hold everything tight the way Borgeson designed it, but I still welded one end of each joint onto the shaft just to minimize future failure points. Overall I'm extremely pleased with how the steering shaft turned out and with the quality of the Borgeson components.
