Does the fuel filter install on the pump's suction or discharge? Will a clogged filter on the pump's suction cause the pump to fail/wipe out. Will a ruptured diaphragm on a mechanical fuel pump cause gas to leak into the crank case and destroy engine.

    Asked by: DudeDude
That filter would go before the pump. A clogged filter could cause severe damage to the pump as it would run it dry. I ruptured diaphragm could possibly leak into the crank case but would typically not produce suction due to the rupture.
