Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I’ve got a 75 Econoline that’s been sitting for 20+ years. Who know what kind of crud is in the block. Put in a new radiator and didn’t want to ruin it. This little inline filter is great. You can see if there is any debris in the filter and it’s easy to pull apart and clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So glad I got this! I have an S10 I bought brand new 13 years ago. I wanted this filter after changing from DexCool coolant last month. After the swap a bunch of gunk clogged up my overflow tube and my truck ober heated blowing my water pump. This filter is awesome! You can see what it catches, see if the thermostat has opened, see if the flow os good and if all the air is purged. I got the 1.5" by accident for my S10. It fit the upper hose, but just barely. Get the small one for your 4.3L Vortec.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WARNING If the center coupler section is painted I recommend removing the paint before installing because it will come off after a few months. Do it now and save the chance the paint from the filter will get into the radiator.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality product I bought this to go on a tractor, that my brother and I are rebuilding. Its been sitting for years. We put a new radiator on it and didn't want any rust or debris from the block, to clog the brand new radiator. Good thing too. This filter clogged almost immediately after firing it up for the first time. We cleaned it and fired it again. But it clogged almost immediately again. The product is well made, with what appears to be aluminum ends, and an acrylic lens. My only issue with it is that its kind of a pain to clean. The whole thing has to be removed and disassembled to clean it. I wish there was a quick way to clean it, without having to remove and disassemble.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from interior paint peeled Good construction. Sturdy unit. Seems good quality. BUT, the pain on the inside of the filter has peeled and had to be cleaned out of the filter. Seems silly to paint it since it's aluminum. I'd probably strip the pain off if I did it again to avoid having to clean the filter after install.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Only for Very Dirty Cooling Systems I like the idea, but the actual product is poorly designed and significantly over priced. Machining and casting are also low quality. Threads don't screw together easily and and there was a defect in one of the end caps keeping the gasket from seating well. The pictures with the listing don't show the end view which would shows highly restrictive this is. Actual inlet and outlet ID is only 3/4" with additional restriction from the center piece holding the ends together. If your cooling system is full of large debris that will block radiator passages it may be worth it to get things cleaned up when installing a new radiator. For me, I will take some slight clogging of radiator over the restriction of this strainer. The mesh is far to big for it be useful for catching smaller particles that will wear the pump. Bypass filters are far better for that.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Glass cracked and leaked just putting the hose on it, filter media is just a screen and doesn’t stop much.

Can this coolant filter be used on a 2008 Jeep Patriot with a 2.4L engine (4 cylinders). If not which of your coolant filters fit a 2008 Jeep Patriot?

    Asked by: EUGENIO
You will need to adapt your coolant hoses to use this. These do not come in your Jeeps size.
