Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good block....except...... I bought this block to replace my old one that was seized. It's a good block....everything is machined in tolerance. The only thing complaint I have is that this block came with absolutely no locating pins at all. No locating pins for the cylinder heads. no locating pins for the timing cover, no locating pins for the oil pump that's on the main cap...REALLY??!! They could have at least left me the oil pump pins...but no. I have to order all these pins, cause trying to get the old ones out of the old block without mangling them up will be almost impossible.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Eh This block from GM is kind of a joke. No paperwork is provided upon purchase aside from a shipping manifest. Leaving you to dig up all the various clearances and tolerances yourself with no real tangible information about what the machinists standards were being held to (aside from googling many forums and finding somewhat repeating information). After many phone calls GM proved to be unhelpful and generally had poor customer service. The only information given on this block comes from jegs, and that is not their fault, but it is very limiting. All that said, after measuring for hours I found that all the machined surfaces were withing tolerance, but only just barely. With the measurements being on the loose end more often than tight. Would I purchase again? Eh, I'm not sure. It might be worth it to save up a little longer and upgrade to an aftermarket that can and will give you the information you desire.
