Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truck runs like new......finally! Got this in 2 days from Jeg's but I live about 2 hours from their warehouse. Engine runs smooth and should last 20 years like the original. I'll settle for ten. Had trouble with the Jeg's brand distributor that I ordered with the engine, Part #555-40006, see my review there. Jeg's is great and no complaints other than that darn distributor.

Is this motor still available and what kind of warranty is on it and with the warranty be valid if I installed it myself

    Asked by: Robin Peterson 72
No, this is the new engine to use - https://www.jegs.com/i/Chevrolet-Performance/809/12681430/10002/-1 it has a 3 year warranty, but you will need a shop to intall this.

Rusty B, what components would have to be upgraded to squeeze out more performance? 210 HP just isn't quite there for me, pulling boat with cab over camper though mountain ranges.

    Asked by: TWings
You would need a different cam, intake and may an EFI system like a Fiten in order to get more power out of this engine. If you are going to do that look at some of the other crate engines we have with more HP.

Is this a direct replacement for a 1990 Silverado and will it pass smog in California

    Asked by: Emy A
This is a quote from the California ARB; Replacement Engines Entire engines can be replacement parts. As with any other replacement part, the engine must be identical to the original. If the replacement block or engine is obtained without emissions equipment, all the equipment from the original engine must be installed on the replacement block. If the engine is not identical to the original then it is not a replacement part, instead it is considered an engine change. Engine changes are a modification that must meet certain requirements to be legal (please see "Engine Changes").

will this motor work in my 1969 c10 1/2 ton 4x4?

    Asked by: Lumaestas
Yes you could use that engine in that truck, But the issue that you may have is the intake bolt pattern is the 87-95 which you will have to buy another intake for it.

It depends on what you add to it, it can make 300 hp without updating the major components.
