127322 - Dart SHP Small Block Chevy Aluminum Cylinder Heads is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Now installed Update on my prior review. I ordered the Comp Cams Magnum Roller Rocker Arms (self aligning) part number 249-1417-16 with Sealed Power stock 5/16” pushrods. This setup required me to drill out the areas where the pushrods pass through the heads in six spots by the intake runners. I used a 7/8” bit then a 15/16” until I had enough clearance so the pushrod had enough clearance as not to bind. I was pretty nervous in doing this to $1200 heads. I originally tried a round file, then a die grinder, then decided that all would take way too long and went with the drill. The wall to the intake runners in my experience were easily thick enough for this modification. You can see in the pic below the untouched hole on the left and on the right is the one I had to modify. Take your time, use a shop vac or two to collect all the aluminum shards when drilling and you’ll be fine. Really looking forward to adjusting the lash and moving forward on this engine today!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far, so good.... I bought these to replace a pair of junk Procomp PC3001 heads. These are heavier castings and the springs/valves are better quality. The only issue is that one of the heads had one of the valve cover bolts holes drilled off center. It still works with my valve covers. For the money, these are a great head.

What is the recommended pushrod for these heads. Best / worst.

    Asked by: Nova troy
This will take a standard style pushrod, the length will be determined by the cam and the rocker arms being used.

i see that some people have had pushrod clearance issues with these heads. do I need to use offset rockers to eliminate this problem?

    Asked by: vegasback
That may be an option, but for many applications no modification is needed. It would be best to bolt these on a determine the amount of offset if any.
