Eastwood 10281Z - Eastwood Zinc Phosphate

Duplicate the Factory Appearance of Zinc Phosphate - Zinc Phosphate duplicates OEM Zinc Phosphate plating. This charcoal gray OEM plating was used on inner and outer tie rod ends, tie rod adjustment sleeves, center links, some spindles hood hinges and latches, sway bars and some shift and carb linkages. Duplicated to match the exact appearance of Zinc Phosphate plating in a very durable enamel aerosol formulation. Temp. resistant to 300 degrees F, one 12 oz. net wt. covers up to 6 sq. ft. 4-8% gloss. Use PRE Painting Prep (352-10041Z) to remove residual grease and oil before coating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Zinc Phosphate Aerosol Paint As a rebuilder of hood hinges with over 25 years experience, I find the zinc phosphate paint is darker grey that actual zinc phosphate coating, but slightly lighter in color than manganese phosphate coating. Many GM factory hood hinges (1966 into the 1970's) were manganese phosphate coated as is evident by the sparkle when exposed to sunlight. The Eastwood paint appears to contain a slight amount of metallic particles. It would be better if there was slightly more metallic to better simulate manganese phosphate. Overall, I would rate it as a good substitute for either zinc or manganese phosphate coatings and much cheaper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Flowmaster Mufflers Look Brand New! Since my mufflers are almost exactly behind the rear tires on my 2010 Mustang GT, road debris being kicked up had worn away the previous finish and the welds were starting to rust. After using a wire brush and steel wool, I was able to clean up and smooth out the rough spots and my Eastwood Zinc Phosphate worked perfect the first time to bring them back to their original look. I highly recommend this product for anyone repainting their Flowmaster Mufflers!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissapointed! I was expecting a true zinc phosphating spray. Instead it is a black paint to look like zinc phosphating. I washed it off with lacquer thinnner. Not really a zinc phosphate agent to protect. I wanted to powder paint over the phosphated metal, but spray lacquer is not good for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Zinc Phosphate Looks Like OEM Finish I use this for Pontiac Tripower Carb bases. They are cast iron and rust easily. The factory treated the carb bases with black oxide, but that coating is not durable beyond a year or so. This coating is very dark gray and gives the desired appearance and protection.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Finish Was somewhat skeptical when i realized this paint is meant to simulate a finish used by GM on misc parts rather than actually duplicate it. But have to say the spindles I painted with this product look good. I cant comment on durability at this time
