Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellant performance and a spool gun! nice arc performance results in a smooth weld, the penatration and appearance you can be proud of. Change over from running aluminum with spoolgun to steel with stinger is a mater of a few minutes. Every bit as good as I could have hoped for. This makes the forth mig for me in 30+ yrs, at least 9 different makers Ive burned with, most with price tags 3 to 4 times this machine, and it stands up well by comparison. I just can't think of anything the "high dollar spread" does that's better than this unit lays down. I gave this machine five stars with the optimism that it's longevity will equal its performance. OK, I like me it, enjoy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value I've had the MIG 175 for a little over a year and it worked flawlessly until the plastic housing containing torch/gas line connection broke. I was bummed when I read review by Jim53 claiming customer service didn't respond to the same problem. Fortunately that was not the case for me - customer service instantly mailed the part (complete drive unit, wire feed motor and all) to me and I was back up and running within 3 days. I would recommend the unit, but be very careful about putting any strain on the torch connection as this is cheap plastic - they should improve the design. Overall it's a great welder for the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gas Line Hookup Broke After using the welder about 5 times I heard a hissing inside of the welder when I turned on the gas. I found the plastic connection inside of welder that the air line plugs into was broke. This cant be simply fixed because it is molded into the plastic that houses the wire feed wheels. I tried calling Eastwood many times. I was always transferred to tech support and always put into a answering machine that said something like “All our techs are busy-tell us your problem, leave your name and number and we will call you back”. I left many messages but never got a call back. I don’t like flux core welding so I shelved the unit, lost hundreds of dollars and bought a different brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It's not worth it Well all I got to say is go put your money into a well known brand named welder and you will be very happy with it knowing that it will always work unlike this one I got but retuned it for my money back because I went through 3 of these welder with in less than a year. Reason why is the gas selonoid will not work like how its really suppose to. Besides when you get the package it says on the side something like manufacture in CHINA. So yeah it China made quality stuff. Well learn a lesson for me and how it willfor some of you guy thinking about getting this welder. Go spend that extra money on a miller or linclon and you will be one happy person. Got me a linclon welder coming in at airgas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT UNIT I received 175 about a week ago. A great welder right out of the box. This box has enough juice at 175 to handle everything I am fabricating for my cars. Have not tried the spool gun but look nice in the box. I bought a gas bottle for argon at HF and had it filled for $15 at the local welding supply store. So I will give some aluminum a try shortly. It's not really a complaint but the side door goes all the way to the bottom of the mig so I had to put some plywood on my cart to raise the mig so the door would clear the cart. I have been using almost everyday since I got it. Very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine for the price Much like the other reviewers have said, you can't beat this machine for the money. My father, brother and I are hobby welders, and mostly do custom automotive projects which require welding 1/4" steel often. we got the machine and immediately tested on a piece of cold rolled steel on the settings the door suggested and it was actually more than what was needed to get full penetration. we had one small issue with the wire staying hit all the time, but customer service stepped up and replaced the welder the next day. great machine and outstanding customer service,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warranty return I bought my original welder 2 years ago in September. As I was welding the welder sputtered and stopped feeding wire. I called support and they asked me to do a quick test with my Spool gun. After the test I called back again and support checked my mailing info and sent me a new welder. Just that fast too. I also received a mailing label for sending back my busted welder. I was very impressed with the customer service that I received during this, you guys are Great in my opinion. I was able to speak with one of your reps at SEMA in 2013. And after that meeting I came home and ordered my welder/ plasma cutter package. It does all I ask, and takes up less than half the space of my old Lincoln units. Sincerely, Jim Ames JC's Mopar

Rated 1 out of 5 by from gas line hook up broke - zero stars Same problem as I have seen in other comments. The cheap plastic part inside the welder where the welding wand attach to the welder cabinet cracked and had parts break out to the point that the shield gas was dumping into the cabinet instead of going out the wand. If Eastwood is going to build these welders with cheap plastic inside they should at least sell the replacement parts to replace the cheap garbage parts that are going to break under normal use. I would avoid these machines because even for the price you are tossing your money away.
