Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this welder mig 175 I bought this welder a little over a year ago and won't lie, I have abused this thing. I am happy with everything about it especially the price and how well Eastwood has been able to help me out with consumables and extras to expand my capabilites in the garage. The welder still run and welds as well as the $2000 machines I could have purchased instead. I felt as if I was taking an unknown chance buying an Eastwood since I hadn't heard much about them but I'm glad I did buy one. You won't be disappointed. Great products, everything I've bought so far has exceeded the quality I could have expected for the price. Eastwood has earned my trust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellant performance and a spool gun! nice arc performance results in a smooth weld, the penatration and appearance you can be proud of. Change over from running aluminum with spoolgun to steel with stinger is a mater of a few minutes. Every bit as good as I could have hoped for. This makes the forth mig for me in 30+ yrs, at least 9 different makers Ive burned with, most with price tags 3 to 4 times this machine, and it stands up well by comparison. I just can't think of anything the "high dollar spread" does that's better than this unit lays down. I gave this machine five stars with the optimism that it's longevity will equal its performance. OK, I like me it, enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great intro welder I just bought this and received it last week. It is a great machine. I am a first time welder and am learning on this machine. It is very easy to use and get dialed in. It has a helpful chart on the inside panel to help you match the correct settings with the correct gauge of metal. I haven't had any problems that I didn't cause yet. Overall a great machine and is an amazing value for the fact that it is a 30 amp welder and comes with a spool gun. I'm just using flux cored wire right now but I'm loving it so far. I'm making a tube bumper for my truck and I made a cart for the welder. Would recommend to anyone. Great product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value I've had the MIG 175 for a little over a year and it worked flawlessly until the plastic housing containing torch/gas line connection broke. I was bummed when I read review by Jim53 claiming customer service didn't respond to the same problem. Fortunately that was not the case for me - customer service instantly mailed the part (complete drive unit, wire feed motor and all) to me and I was back up and running within 3 days. I would recommend the unit, but be very careful about putting any strain on the torch connection as this is cheap plastic - they should improve the design. Overall it's a great welder for the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gas Line Hookup Broke After using the welder about 5 times I heard a hissing inside of the welder when I turned on the gas. I found the plastic connection inside of welder that the air line plugs into was broke. This cant be simply fixed because it is molded into the plastic that houses the wire feed wheels. I tried calling Eastwood many times. I was always transferred to tech support and always put into a answering machine that said something like “All our techs are busy-tell us your problem, leave your name and number and we will call you back”. I left many messages but never got a call back. I don’t like flux core welding so I shelved the unit, lost hundreds of dollars and bought a different brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT UNIT I received 175 about a week ago. A great welder right out of the box. This box has enough juice at 175 to handle everything I am fabricating for my cars. Have not tried the spool gun but look nice in the box. I bought a gas bottle for argon at HF and had it filled for $15 at the local welding supply store. So I will give some aluminum a try shortly. It's not really a complaint but the side door goes all the way to the bottom of the mig so I had to put some plywood on my cart to raise the mig so the door would clear the cart. I have been using almost everyday since I got it. Very happy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Customer service is horrible!!! Mig welder was delivered non functional (it happens) Scott from tech assistance promptly diagnosed and requested an exchange unit for me. Customer service wants me to pay for boxes and packaging material (as I threw original away expecting I got a functional unit for my $500 spent) so on top of spending my $500 now I have to spend more to return the broken unit and wait additional time for a new unit to be sent out. Poor CS, won't even respond to my email! I love the unit regardless of the lemon it has great features, but very sorry CS makes me not want to do business with them again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did my research and this unit Rocks! I bought this for myself for Christmas and just got around to buying a bottle of 75/25. My dad has been welding since he was 14 and now he's retired. He has been used to using the blue colored namebrand welders and did not expect this Mig175 to perform anywhere near the way the blue ones do. We have welded without any issues all the way up to half-inch steel. Currently were building a commercial barbecue smoker and this thing is a beast. It put down a beautiful bead even with non-namebrand Mig wire. So far we have gone through about 10 pounds of meat wire without any issues or even running over the duty cycle. I will definitely be buying one of these for dad or just give him this one and buy myself another one.
