Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eastwood TIG 200 I purchased Eastwood TIG 200 welder and am very pleased with it. We hooked it up and my first weld was acceptable. I switched to aluminum and I was able to lay down a bead but was not as good as I would like, as it was the first time a tried to weld aluminum. I highly recommend this welder. For the money, it is a great welder. I have been shopping for a welder for months, and couldn't pull the trigger on the high priced Millers, or Lincolns. The Eastwood TIG 200 is great little welder. I like the trigger on the torch, very easy to use. My only suggestion would be to put the on off switch on the front panel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TIG 200 I bought this unit to use at home, and it works very well. I am used to welding mild steel tubing with oxy/acetylene, so welding with the TIG 200 was very similar. I also used it on stainless tubing. I welded aluminum for the first time, and it took a lot of videos to learn how to do it. Aluminum is very difficult and must be ultra clean, but once I quit dipping the tungsten into the weld and touching the rod to the tungsten, I started laying down some nice welds consistently. I am very happy with this machine and will probably not use my MIG 185 or spool gun very much now that I have this welder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am learning alot, it's great! I have been using this in hopes of restoring a 1973 Challenger that I have to replace every major body panel and floor pan. Thought I would use it to fill in the seams between roof and quarter panels. Not as easy as it may. I have never used one before and it takes practice, lots of practice. I have found that the charts are a guide and a place to start but amperage should be adjusted to create a perfect puddle. Aluminum is even harder. I think the finger trigger is a great feature, I thought I would hate it. But, I am learning a lot and will get where I need to be with it shortly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eastwood TIG200 AC/DC For years I have welded with a "Big Blue"250 TIG welder at work. I know this machine cost around $3000 and it performed flawlessly for miles of welding on aluminum and stainless steel projects. I always wanted a TIG welder for my home shop but I hesitated on investing that kind of money for a shop convenience. After some researching I decided to take a chance on the Eastwood 200 TIG welder. To my surprise the Eastwood 200 TIG with the gas lens accessory kit welds every bit as NICE OR NICER than the "Big Blue" at a fraction of the price! If you can braze or oxy-acetylene weld you can easily learn how to TIG weld with this smooth welding machine. If you are an experienced welder, you will love this machine!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from stood by warranty I purchased the 200 amp ac/dc welder 3 years ago May of 2013,the last week of April 2016 while welding some .030 steel tubing I heard a pop and was unable to maintain an arc using the foot pedal, I then undid the foot pedal for manual, still no arc, I called Eastwood tech dept. talked to them and was told it was still under warranty and I should pack it up and ship it back for evaluation, about 3 weeks later they shipped me a new machine. So far it has welded perfectly, Eastwood has lived up to their end of the bargain in spades. R.Mack, A pleased and continued customer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wasn't what I expected. Bought this TIG when it was on sale, being real used to MIG welding I figured it was time to learn something new. Gave this welder a shot, price was good as well as the company. Shipping was fast, unboxed and everything was there. Plugged everything in with my 100% Argon tank and sharpened the tungsten. Practiced for about 10-15 minutes, took a break to let it cool and when I came back the machine would not function. You could hear some kinda valve inside the machine randomly clicking... Not like if it was still hot from welding prior. Regulators on my tanks were also inaccurate as they would randomly "flicker"... Returned for full refund. Was not impressed, maybe you'll have better luck... Anyone need a 80 cu ft tank of argon...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cheap little welder. First let me say that I am an experienced welder, been tig welding mainprofessionally for 8 years now I have also welded steel and stainless steel off and on for those 8 years. This is a great little machine for a novice or experienced welder to have at home. I did have problems with the first machine a recieved but eastwood's great customer service replaced it with no fuss, also I should add when they shipped my second machine I recieved it very fast. I would highly recommend this machine to anyone that is looking for a home use tig welder.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Rocky Start But Okay Now I bought the TIG 200 AC/DC and received it quickly. After putting it all together the solenoid valve for the shielding gas only worked intermittently after only approximately four hours of welding. Tough to weld without shielding gas! After several communications I sent the first unit back and got a replacement. Now all is well except for the learning curve and sharpening tungsten regularly since I dip them. I am working through that phase. I am a hobby welder mainly using stick and mig and will only use the tig infrequently so the TIG 200 is just what I need. I did replace the pressure regulator gauge included for a flow meter and that seems to better control gas flow and overall argon consumption. All in all I am satisfied with the purchase.
