Rated 5 out of 5 by from great gift Just gave this helmet to hubby for Christmas. He was happy with all the features and can't wait to try it I'll check back to let you know how it works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I've had the helmet about a month, and no problems whatsoever. Came with extra lenses, too. For the price, it's very nice. No gripes at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good so far. Bought to use in a year long welding certification class (one of the more advanced ones, full AWS 1.1 + Tig). Its held up pretty good but you can tell its not a super-duper solid piece of gear. Nothing you'd want to take into the field as a pipeline welder or on a skyscraper but perfectly OK for student/home/light shop use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great helmet I have used this helmet now for 2 years while restoring my 64 Superstock Dodge. It has never malfunctioned, not even once. I use it a lot since my old car needed extensive repairs on the floor and lower quarters. Buy it with confidence.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from auto-darkening wwelding helmet Eastwood Company fast delivery. The helmet is very light weight 1.75 lb. Beside that. It has a auto darkening lens. You can adjust the sensitivity knob in the helmet. It's a very good quality product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good price & features. But could be more durable. Got this helmet as a part of a package deal with an Eastwood welder I purchased close to two years ago. It has served me well, but it's thin plastic construction has led to the helmet breaking and needing to be replaced. I used this helmet with a 135 amp MIG welder exclusively. Pros: - Viewing area is good. Although not huge, I rarely found myself not able to see what I was working on. - You can set the sensitivity of the lens to be triggered by a light as mild as a florescent shop light. - The ability to wear shop glasses under the hood comfortably. - The speed with which the lens auto darkens and goes back is very quick. I don't know the time in milliseconds, but it's as quick as I needed it too be. - The optics never failed me. I was never flashed and the batteries are still going strong after regular use, over a period of two years. - Price. There's not too many helmets in this price range that have the features and dependability that this helmet had. Cons: - The plastic tightening knobs which hold the hood in place would constantly loosen up, making the hood not stay in place when lifted. Which made me have to tighten them more securely. By doing so, I lost the ability to drop the hood with the shake of my head. I'd have to put it down manually each time. - The lens was often too dark at times, requiring strategic placement of shop lights to illuminate the working area. - No grinding mode feature. I'm aware that few, if any helmets in this price range have that feature, and not really a con, just something that would have been nice to have. - And finally, it's plastic construction. Which, after dropping the hood a few times has caused it to crack and break the plastic in places which I can no longer fix with tape, glue and velcro. Requiring me to replace the helmet. Although this was a great helmet for it's price, I'm going to spend a little more and purchase a different helmet to replace it. As with most of Eastwood's products, they do a great job for a limited amount of time in my experience. I guess they are aimed more at the hobbyist and my use of their products may exceed that slightly.
