Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could use a couple changes I have no other helmet to compare against so this is just a straight up first impression after using it for several hours. 1) too dark. Even though it is adjustable, I have it at the lightest setting and even then need a lot of lights in the garage to see anything but the spark. 2) plan to wrap the top with a microfiber cloth. The band that goes around the head is ok, but where it goes over the top of your head will really eat into your hide if you are a bald guy so you'll need to plan to pad it yourself 3) Viewing area is nice and large- you couldn't ask for more

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great up-grade Just received this large view auto darken welding helmet. It is very comfortable and the large view is fantastic especially under the car.. This helmet to replaced an older auto darkening helmet with a small view that started to not darken all the way . The cost of this helmet was less than a lens replacement for my old one. The auto darkening feature works very well and I like the adjust ability. The helmet construction seams very sturdy. I would definitely recommend this helmet to anyone doing any type of welding.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from a great looking helmet to bad i never got to try it out, i tried adjusting the head band, the mechanism popped open, and small pieces popped out, which one was lost, also it did not open wide enough to fit over my welding cap, also the lens is wide, what good is it if it is so low, when i put the helmet on, all i saw was top o shield, where there was no view opening, a nice looking helmet, a poor design, i sent it back immediately, waiting for a refund on credit card. ik not negative or rarely complain.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Large view auto darkening helmet I bought this helmet in Dec. 2015, however because I am disabled I did not get the chance to try the helmet immediately. By the time I did use the helmet almost 3 months had passed. I experienced 3 bad flashes and could not get the helmet to work effectively. At this point I just assumed the helmet was wasted money but to my great delight, when I contacted Eastwood they did not even hesitate to refund my money. I cannot believe how well a Canadian customer could be treated. Without hesitation I will continue to deal with Eastwood and would gladly recommend this company to anyone. Every once in awhile a product will be defective but most importantly it is when a supplier provides the back up support for that product that makes business dealings worthwhile. I solidly support business with Eastwood! They have me as a customer for life!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay helmet, low amp flashing The helmet is okay but I have to complaints. First, when tig welding with very low amps, 15, 20, 25, etc., I get flashed regularly. This is very annoying. Second, the helmet hinge does not stay tight. There are two knobs, one on each side and one side seems to stay tight, the other does not and I'm constantly having to re-tighten. This is a royal pain. For these reasons, I'm looking for another helmet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only lasted a year Bought this to replace a Harbor Freight helmet. Sometimes would not auto-darken. Knob on the side of the helmet broke off. Batteries died and had to replace right after a year. Still wouldn't work right. Went back to using my HF helmet. Tried to return for a new one and customer service said it only has a one year warranty. Sorry. I wouldn't recommend this helmet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Helmet but DOA out of box. I just got this helmet and read the instruction first thing. Reading them only took about 45 seconds because there is not much to read. I had been waiting 14 days for my order to arrive which felt like forever but it was free shipping so cant complain too much. There is no on off switch so I put the shinny new helmet on and struck an ark and got flashed because it did not work. Checked everything to make sure I was good to go and still no luck. Got out my voltage meter and found that the batteries were dead….new helmet batteries should be good. Did not want to wait another two weeks so spent $10 on some new batteries and helmet works great. The large viewing area in nice and make welding for me much easier. I can wear my glasses with no problem under this helmet. It is also very light compared to the helmet I was using. Other then the dead batteries and the price of the helmet going from $70 to $80 I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost as good as some high end units I have used Having been lucky enough to use some pro level helmets, this one is very good for the DIY'er. So far its been comfortable and functioned as it should, which is nice since I once used a "cheaper" auto darkening units that had a tendency to not change, which made me get my old helmet out since I couldn't trust. No issues with trusting this one.
