Rust Encapsulator
  • 1 Quart
  • Black

  • Specifications:

    Manufacturer's Part Number:

Eastwood Rust Encapsulator has been tested by an independent lab to be the most effective rust preventive product yet. Tested against well-known brands, the Eastwood Rust Encapsulator has proven to be superior in sunlight resistance, preventing rust creep, and overall durability. One 15 oz (net weight) aerosol can covers about 10 sq/feet. Contains no isocyanates. Heat resistant up to 400°F.

  • It's easy to use. Just remove any loose rust and wax, oil or grease. Then brush Rust Encapsulator on (if you prefer, thin up to 20% with lacquer thinner and spray)
  • It seals and stops rust and corrosion from spreading. Use over or under body fillers
  • Rust Encapsulator is a great primer for floor pans and other under-body parts. It fills tiny pin-holes and surface irregularities, and is compatible with lacquer, enamel and urethane top coats (including Eastwood Chassis Black)
  • For the absolute ultimate rust remedy, first brush or spray on Eastwood Rust Converter, then prime with Rust Encapsulator

JEGS EZ Kits are designed by JEGS professionals to ensure that you get all the correct parts you need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the investment I use this as a base for my frame painting on my show truck and am really pleased with it - so much so I plan to do my tow rig next then probably my daily driver. Follow the prep guidlines well (as you should with any paint product) and you'll be pleased with the results too. I've actually started to shoot it with the airless sprayer that I got off here, and I think that actually gives a superior coating to brushing it on. Plus it dries quickly regardless of the application method, so you can move on to final finishes sooner. Definitely worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great Looks Great. I wired brushed the shock mounts on my F150 several times with Fast Etch and used a pre prep cleaner by Eastwood before I applied the Rust Encapsulator. It dries pretty quickly and has a nice smooth shine just like the Extreme Black Chassis gloss. It's too early to report on the rust coming back, but I doubt it will. I used Extreme Black Chassis gloss on my U-Haul trailer hitch 6 years ago and still no rust. Nothing so I believe the Rust Encapsulator will be very similar.. I plan to use Rust Encapsulator for the whole frame, but I'm still using the Fast Etch on my frame first. I do a few feet a day when I have time. Getten' Er Done.... So far this is the best product I've used to control rust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior Product I was skeptical at first about how thin the product was straight out of the can. However,it penetrates into the surface rust very well.Use a disposable brush to work into tight, complex areas, and spray gun on large flat surfaces, and put on two coats. It is well worth the cost(cheap considering you will never have to address paint,or rust on the chassis ever again). This is hands down, the best product I have ever used!Period!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rust killer I first used this product about 6 years ago in combination with Eastwoods Rust Converter on some seriously rusted areas on my 1988 5th ave. I was using the car as a Taxicab at the time in Syracuse NY, where the winters are long and they use a lot of salt. I drove it through 2 winters after that as a cab and the rust never came back where I had treated it. I still have the car, and it still hasn't. I just recently used both products on some steel wheels ( now mounted with snow tires) that will be put to the same test. Great stuff!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT ON RUST I've been in the auto body industry for over 40 years this products is great for controlling rust in areas that are not easily accessible & with ceramic chassis coating, you've got a great barrier of protection. It won't replace sandblasting & corrosion coating, but it's the next best thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from RV Rust Maintenance This my first experience using a rust "proofing" product and it has been a good one. The Rust Encapsulator was easy to apply; I wire brushed the exposed RV body parts, along the bottom of the storage bays, did some rough sanding into the existing paint, and brushed on the Encapsulator. It went on smoothly and it goes a long way. I applied only one coat and it looks great. Convenient on-line ordering and and very fast delivery was a plus. I'd recommend this to anyone in need of this type of product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rust prevent This product does a great job, just follow directions and all will be good. I drill small hole in top then put a screw in it with a rubber faucet washer on it to seal hole. This way you do not open the top and take a chance on the lid getting sealed forever after using. You do not want to dip your brush in can as you can contaminate the product so use another container. That is why I drill small hole in it and use the screw with faucet washer to seal. I recommend this product

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OK I guess, as good as POR 15 with less prep work. I have been using this for several years. If you don't top coat with a good paint or undercoating and water lays on it, it will bleed rust through, but so will POR 15. I tried painting a hitch with rustoleum, POR 15, and Eastwood rust encapsulator. I believe plain rustoleum doesn't last quite as long as the others. I boat quite a bit and the hitch is water a lot. having said that, it is much easier to use than POR 15 and less expensive.
