Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed! Let me first say that I have purchased allot of Edelbrock Performance products through the years and have been very pleased with them. Not so much with this water pump. My current big block in my Nova was giving me cooling problems. I figured it was because the radiator was too small...so I up graded it to a larger Cold-Case aluminum unit with shroud and dual electric fans. I also opted to install a high flow aluminum water pump by Edelbrock. I'm having one "H" of a time trying to get it to stop leaking. The problem is it leaks around the cap screw that holds the alternator mounting bracket to the boss on the top of the water pump. I've never had this problem with any other water pumps I've used. I've had it apart now for the 5th time, trying all types of sealer with no luck. So, tonight I took it apart (the 5th time) cleaned the threads completely, putting pipe thread sealer on both the internal threads in the mounting boss and the threads on a longer mounting bolt. I then added a little more sealer to the threads exposed through the boss and installed a flanged nut to the back side to hopefully finally seal things up. I'll fire it up tomorrow afternoon with my fingers crossed.

    Torque for mounting bolts

    Asked by: Roland70
This would be torqued to stock specs for the big block Chevy engine.

How much more over standard flow can I expect using this water pump at idle? And how would that relate in water temperature drop with conditions being the same?

    Asked by: Nova 502
Edelbrock does not list a percentage , what they do say is that the impeller design equalizes cooling on both sides of the engine
