With 720 horsepower, each ZZ572 Deluxe is built around a new (not remanufactured) Sportsman tall deck Bow Tie Gen VI block with 10.2" deck. They have 1-piece rear main seals, forged 4340 steel crankshaft (Bore 4.560"/Stroke 4.375"), forged 4340 shot-peened H-beam rods, forged aluminum pistons with full-floating wrist pins, plasma moly rings, high-RPM torsional damper & screened/louvered windage tray.

Redesigned rectangular port aluminum 118cc cylinder heads have 2.25" Int/1.88" Exh valves, and the hydraulic roller camshaft has either a .632" or .714" lift. Chrome moly steel spring retainers, aluminum 1.7:1 roller rockers, and dual valve springs complete the valvetrain. Chevy Orange paint is used on the valve covers, and the ignition is handled by a GM HEI distributor (36° total advance). A GM tall deck aluminum single plane intake manifold with a Demon 850 or
1095 cfm carburetor (mechanical secondary) delivers ample air and fuel.
