Outstanding Performance
Even on Low Octane FuelFew engines conjure thoughts of greatness like the legendary Chevy big block 427. It powered some of the most storied cars in high-performance history. New to the GM Performance Parts lineup, the ZZ427 crate engine maintains the good, original characteristics while adding modern touches: updated 4-bolt main cast iron block, forged internal rotating assembly, 10.1:1 compression ratio, and aggressive hydraulic roller cam. The engine's top half is the same as the Limited Edition Anniversary 427; the intake is a matching high-flow oval port aluminum piece. With 444 ft/lbs torque and a conservative 430 HP rating, this is still one of the best crate engines for nearly any big block application.
