    Chevrolet Performance Small Block Chevy Aluminum Race Blocks combine the competition strength of cast iron with the weight savings of aluminum. This allows you to build a more balanced race car, improving chassis dynamics without sacrificing power.

  • Extra-thick main bearing bulkhead machined at 5°
  • Enlarged cam bosses allow machining for the use of larger bearings
  • Extra-thick deck surfaces with blind-tapped head bolt holes improve head gasket seal
  • Cylinder decks, front and rear of case, oil pan rail surfaces, and head dowel pins are blueprinted

    Technical Notes
  • Oil dipstick holes are not drilled
  • Check timing system clearance before engine assembly
  • 2-piece rear main crankshaft and pre-1986 oil pan required
  • 2.000'' OD cam bearings required at all five locations (1.867'' ID)
  • Billet wet sump rear main cap can be adapted to dry sump with plugs
  • Some roller lifters may require clearancing at top of lifter bores (.842'' diameter)
