    Engineered Specifically for A/G-Body LS Engine Swaps

    These headers were specifically designed to be installed with Hooker LS swap engine and transmission mounting components and exhaust systems for LS Engine Swap 1978-88 Malibu / Monte Carlo / El Camino* / Cutlass / Grand Prix / Regal / Bonneville applications. For best fitment and overall component clearances, Hooker headers and mounting components for this LS swap application are designed with a chassis-centered engine and transmission location, which varies only slightly from the original minor passenger side offset used by GM. The engine and transmission have also been positioned to enable hassle-free installation and to promote good vehicle handling performance. The unique design geometry of these headers requires the use of specific Hooker clamshell type engine mounting brackets and Anchor brand P/N 2292 or equivalent engine mounts to ensure fitment compatibility with your car. Use of any frame stand/swap plate style mounts will not provide the engine positioning necessary for obtaining the component and ground clearances designed into these headers. Attempts to install these headers with any other type or combination of engine and transmission mounting components will cause them to no longer be bolt-in compatible with the mentioned Hooker exhaust systems.

    Important Application and Installation Note
    These headers were specifically designed for compatibility with:
  • Hooker Headers LS swap engine mounting brackets (p/n 520-12643)
  • Hooker Headers transmission crossmember for LS engine swap (p/n 520-12644)
  • Hooker Headers exhaust systems (p/n 520-42511 or 520-42512)
  • Holley LS oil pan (p/n 510-302-2)
    Using ANY components other than what is listed here will result in misalignment and interference issues with these Hooker and Holley components.

  • Mild steel headers have laser cut 3/8'' flanges with flat-finished TIG welded port sealing; Stainless steel headers have flat-finished TIG welded investment cast port flanges
  • Premium fitment with optimized ground clearance
  • Designed to maximize exhaust flow with optimized bend geometry to deliver increased power and torque without compromising fitment
  • A key requirement when designing these Hooker LS Swap Header system was to obtain the highest ground clearance possible tucking the header tubing up into the chassis as high as was feasible while maintaining optimum engine power
  • Compatible with QuickTime bellhousings, mechanical clutch linkage, stock A/C evaporator case on firewall, straight boot spark plug wires and Holley LS swap oil pans and accessory drive brackets
  • Compatible only with stock height subframe/body mounts; installation with ''half height'' mounts will require modification to vehicle floor panels. Not compatible with stock GM column shift linkage; must use Lokar or similar aftermarket cable or linkage assembly for column shifted applications
  • Long tube headers connect directly to Hooker 3'' exhaust system; connection of long tube headers to Hooker 2-1/2'' exhaust system, or Hooker mid-length headers to 2-1/2'' or 3'' exhaust system requires the use of an available mid-pipe kit
