I've been a mechanic for 42 years and used some very expensive timing lights. This one tops them all. And at half to 1/3 the price. Only time will prove if it is durable.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plastic Clamp Melts My old Innova version of this light used a metal inductive clamp, they changed to a plastic clamp several years ago. In less than five minutes of use the clamp was ruin due to partially melting and deforming to the point of being worthless. Before using it I made sure the clamp wasn’t touching the engine/exhaust but under the hood it is going to get hot, too hot for this plastic clamp. Thicker, more heat tolerant plastic clamps may work but not this. I called Innova, they would only say it wasn’t covered under any type of warranty or exchange and that it doesn’t happen very often. Look for a different brand with a metal clamp, not this Innova.

    Does this work with MSD ? If not what light would.
