Serpentine belt drives have become the primary system for driving engine accessories in most of today's vehicles. Many of these idler pulleys are manufactured from molded plastic to reduce cost. However, plastic offers limited durability when exposed to abrasive dirt, heat, or when excessive belt tension is applied.

JEGS High Performance Engine Idler Pulleys are manufactured from a high strength light weight steel for maximum strength and wear resistance. The bearings are made from high quality bearing steel with a nylon cage and high performance grease for quiet running and maximum performance. All bearings have a labyrinth type seal to help keep dirt out of the bearing, extending the bearing life.
