Great starter, solved my starting issue on a 350
My existing high torque starter starting having issues and needed to be replaced. I purchased this starter even though the construction is odd. I was able to index the drive motor so that it did not hit into the engine.
The engine has 10.5 compression and is bored out to 383 cubic inches. The starter cranks over the engine without any issue and is relatively quiet. I and very pleased with the starter and would highly recommend it.

Good little starter. Have one on a nova that has had a couple different engines. That one has been in the car for 10 years or more. Purchase another for the wife’s nova. Fits well with stock, front sump and larger capacity kick out pans. Works with block hugger headers or 1-7/8” Super Comps. Never had an issue with the starter. Can easily be clocked to work in a variety of ways.

Fantastic starter
Installed on a slightly modified 454, made a huge difference. I should have put one of these on to begin with.
Smaller, easier to access, clockable, and cranks faster than the old stock unit.

we installed this starter on a sbc with a lot of compression 11:1 also has headers that would interfere with a full size high torque starter we were able to adjust this one for clearance very satisfied

GREAT PRODUCT!!
I purchased this starter to use on an engine test stand that I purchased from PRW several years ago. I used this starter on a small block 383 Chevy. Once I changed the clocking to suit this motor, it cranked without any issues at all. Great starter for the price. It also comes with shims and starter bolts for ease of installation. GOOD DEAL!!!

What is the RPM in a non loaded rotation. Because of the gear reduction , is the loaded RPM considerably slower compared to a oem.
