    These 100 amp, high output, 1 wire alternators are available in either chrome or black powder coat. They include either a V-Groove Billet or 6-Groove Billet serpentine pulley. They have a unique casting design with a smooth case for a clean look. The Turbo Baffle Fan provides increased cooling. They also feature a self energizing, built in regulator, jumbo button diodes and heavy duty copper windings. Fits all Ford V8's except modular engines (4.6L, 5.0L and 5.4L) and FE (352, 360, 390, 427 & 428). .

    Unique Charging Feature

    A one wire alternator has a turn on point (sometimes called "cut in", which is typically about 1200 engine RPM). We have developed rotor poles and stator stacks that carry a higher magnetism thus providing an instant regulator cut in without engine acceleration. All of our 1-wire alternators are manufactured with this exclusive low cut in feature at 880 engine RPM which is much lower than any other alternator (of its type) sold. This is the speed where the internal sense circuitry connects the battery to the voltage regulator, thereby turning the alternator on. Once the voltage regulator turns on, the alternator will remain on and charging until the engine comes to a complete stop.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ford 1 wire alternator Packaging was excellent so alternator arrived unharmed. I installed this on my 302, 63 Ford Fairlane 500 2D HT. During the install I noticed the access to the 'R' plug was blocked by the housing anchor bolt position. I bought this unit so I could also hook up a warning light if belt breaks or it stops working. I called tech support to see if I could spin the case and they said no problem. Doing this I was able to re-locate the plug in a better position. After the install I checked voltage and the charge is as expected.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must Have! I was having trouble with a 65 Mustang's charging system. New Alt., new regulator, and wiring. Vehicle was testing okay but still wasn't charging! Rather than pay a shop $100.00 or so dollars to chase this issue further, I decided to try this one wire Alt. "PROBLEM SOLVED!!!" Plus, now I don't have as much wiring under the hood. Glad they make this Alternator!
