Rated 4 out of 5 by from Location, location Regarding the Ultra-Quiet Electric Fuel Pump 160 gph noise level. I’ve received the documents I could return the pump for a replacement due to noise level. But I’ve been informed by my preferred machine shop, “Varney’s Automotive” it’s “not Quiet because” it is not mounted below the fuel level in the tank. And “I’m told” because this pulls rather than pushes the fuel, that’s what causes the loudness of the pump. There is not a way to mount this pump below the fuel tank in the 1969 Mustang. I’ve positioned the pump to directly atop the tank. I can’t tell if there is a difference. Per the installation instructions, the pump must be mounted below the fuel level or pickup tube inlet for the pump to prime "properly" on startup. It doesn’t mention any thing about noise levels. BTW, it primes just fine, but it's just not quiet as I had hoped

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sure not ultra-quiet Although somewhat quieter, Ultra-Quiet is a real stretch, add to that, that it is pricey and the value is so-so.
