Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good transmission I purchased one of these transmissions and overall it's good quality transmission and remanufactured by TCI Incorporated . But be sure that your torque converter is a good match with the correct stall rate for the engine you pairing it with. Additionally, be sure that once you complete your build that you have a good professional transmission shop pre-set the kick down on the engine. Failure to perform any of these will result in catastrophic failure of the 700R4 transmission regardless of it's quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great I bought this tranny installed it with a jegs torque converter too on a blue print 383 with 9.5.1 compression. I also used a proflow4 EFI from edelbrock with no problem. This trans was build very good, shifts good, smooth. I also used jegs trans cooler and oil and everything gravy. Very happy with this set up. I see no problem using it again. Maybe others are not matching the right torque converter with the engine or not setting up the proper shifting points because I have no problems at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Transmission capacity Please note the product description and instructions both state the capacity of this transmission is 6 quarts. Perhaps it’s the pan it . seems deeper than stock and has a drain plug, but this transmission takes at least 8 quarts. Check your fluid levels for yourself!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Jegs 60320 700R4 Transmission I have recently installed the Jegs 60320 700R4 transmission in my 71 El Camino replacing my TH 350. The Jegs 700 R4 transmission is a good stock replacement with the overdrive feature. After some fine tuning by my mechanic, it shifts smoothly and operates as it should. I have only put on a few miles, so far, so good. I would highly recommend this transmission for a stock replacement or someone with more of a cruiser versus crusher application. If you are looking for a more aggressive street/strip application, this would not be the transmission for you. It is a good transmission at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 700r4 Got the transmission in. It works as it should but the shifts seem really soft, virtually stock. I've double-checked the TV cable adjustment and everything is correct. Really wish it had firmer more positive shifts. There was some grease and grime painted over in some of the grooves on the exterior of the transmission where it wasn't thoroughly cleaned during the rebuild process. It was missing the new TV cable and wiring harness when it arrived. Jegs however sent these pieces out with no problem. Time will tell if it holds up. It was nice this transmission didn't require a core return.
