Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Engine Stand I have waited months if not years for a competative price on this rotating engine stand. The assembly instructions were concise and easy to follow. I was amazed how well it withstood the weight of my engine and it rotated with little wasted motion. This engine stand is a tool favorite for every professional and DIY merchanic. Give it 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice piece.. I've wanted one of these for awhile but couldn't justify the cost.. The time came that I needed a second stand n I had to take the plunge! Overall it's a nice stand the packing could be upgraded along with the hardware...After purchasing grade eight nuts bolts n washers its assembled n working as anticipated...The gearbox could be a bit tighter but all in all "Yes I Would Recommend This Stand To Anyone Looking To Upgrade !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great I've wanted this stand for a while and it did not disappoint. Turing a big block long block is now a breeze. The only disappointing thing was when I got a another order a week latter from Jegs that had a flier in it with the stand for $30 cheaper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommend! Bought this to do an engine swap on my mustang but ended up needing it for a Huyndai Tucson job. Worked great, easy to put together, quality is much better than I expected. Price was cheaper on Jegs than any other site I could find. Makes working on different locations of the engine easy with the worm drive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to assemble Works great Ordered this after old age got to me and I was having trouble spinning a 429 CJ on my old stand. Works real good and I don't know why I waited so long to buy one. There is a grease sert on the head and I went ahead and filled it up and it cranks real smooth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Spinning engine stand This spinning engine stand works so much easier than pry bars and muscle to flip the engine.
    Date published: 2022-01-21
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Arrived damaged but works okay The assembly was pretty straight forward. The pieces did not align up very well. With the help of a mallet and pry bar, I was able to get it assembled. It appears to be very sturdy and I love the crank handle. To fold it up, I will have to loosen many of the bolts due to the binding from the holes not aligning properly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Missing Parts Stand came with the box in bad shape. One of the four engine mounting brackets was missing, may have fallen out through a hole in the box. Stil trying to figure out how to order parts as the instructions that came with the stand said parts were available, but can't find a link on the site to order them. Guess the phone will have to do...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice value Bought this to be able to rotate my giant Mercedes Benzene diesel, glad I did. Once I added a lot of grease to the worm gear and head stock, it easily spins this diesel around to any angle I like

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great deal for useful tool I’ve coveted a gear box rotator engine stand since seeing a snap on model at a trade show for $499...like 40 years ago. When the Jegs shipping and discount deals hit me I decided to buy this poor man’s model. When it came the box was in shreds...typical offshore shipping box just one notch above tissue paper. However everything was there and the stand went together in about 15 minutes. By the way it does fold down for storage, would probably roll under a work bench folded depending on the height of the bottom shelf. I don’t believe the ad mentioned that. I used it this weekend for a fully dressed Chrysler 360 V8 freshen up and it worked very well. One important thing is the plate is heavy enough that it doesn’t let the engine droop like the cheapo stands laughably rated at 1000 pounds. So overall a great deal and well worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great features I just assembled and everything went well except a broken metric zirt fitting. I like the gear drive feature to turn the engine. The frame is a little light weight in construction

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Safe Engine Stand I bought this last month, it helped me with my engine build. I have had engines spin unsafely on their own before, could have caused injury with non-crank engine stand. I am glad I bought this ongine stand much safer and and helps much more with the build.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great rotating stand for the money I've used "standard" budget engine for decades and have had some scary close calls when rotating engines. I was finally injured while rotating a Model T engine / trans. The next day, I bought this one. It went together easily, despite the substandard instructions. This T engine / trans was the first thing I mounted on it. The stand performed well. There is some slop in the worm gear that is especially noticeable as the engine turns over the top of the stand. It would be nice if there was a slack adjuster there, but overall, it is a great stand for the money. The rotating head is a great safety feature. I don't ever plan to use my old stands again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty nice Engine stand. I've had the stand for a few weeks now and so far i'm happy. The packaging was a little shaky. Its a heavy stand packed in Styrofoam and cardboard. It arrived with a hole in the box and strapping missing. Luckily all the parts were still there.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One thing missing as design then I give 5star Ok should have include swivel casters to rear then this be excellent also good on extra holes for engine bracket mount is a thumbs up redo rear wheel with swivel casters make this better to move more easily and maybe end caps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings Purchased for auto repair/custom shop. Seemed cheap when we unboxed it and after assembly there was a hard spot when turning the crank. After putting a modular Ford motor on it the weight seemed to let it turn easier. Rolled engine over on it's side and something inside the rotating mechanism broke. Handle just spun like it wasn't attached to anything. Took the covers off and finally got the motor rolled upright and attached to the engine hoist after about 30 minutes. Found that when they installed the roll pin through the crank shaft they had peened it over and it apparently wasn't going all the way through. Also, the shaft that went through the worm gear was bent. Bent the shaft straight and went to the local hardware store for a 5/32 American made roll pin, put it back together and haven't had a problem since. We do a lot of engine work so I'll probably buy another stand like this. I'd pull the large cover off first and check or replace the roll pin before using it if I bought another one. It was actually quite sturdy, the modular motor is a big, wide motor. We were able to roll it around and do everything we needed to do without any indication that the engine was unstable once we fixed the initial problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stout stand Recently bought this stand and it is built very sturdy. I am currently building a 5.9 Cummins on it and it is working great for this project. The only complaints I have, was the mounting hole for the bracket holding the upright up was not in the correct location. I had to drill a new hole about an 1 1/2" away from the hole that was there in order to get the bracket to bolt up. Another issue was the stand would wobble once I set it on its wheels. I got some longer bolts and added washers between the caster and the frame of the stand and now it sits nice and level.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice unit This is a nice unit. Works good. I changed all the hardware to grade 8 bolts. The supplied bolts just looked too weak. I use it for my Big block engines so their is a lot of weight on it. The bolts that hold the rotating head to the stand where not screwed in all the way. I thought that they had cross threaded them but they tighten right up .Over all a good item.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The stand its self seems to be great. Easy to turn an iron head bbc over and work on. However the grease zerk threads on the swivel was stripped when I got it. Overall a good purchase when on sale!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Jegs Rotating Engine Stand I purchased this stand about a month ago to replace a non-rotating engine stand. Overall I am happy with the stand but added sleeves to each of fingers going to the engine block to tighten movement with smaller diameter engine block bolts and changed some of the assembly bolts to Grade 8. Not so happy to see that the price is now on sale for $30.00 less then what I paid for it a month ago.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice stand! I put a fully dressed SBC on it with no droop at all. The rotating head could use a positive clamping type of lock to help keep the engine from rocking when torquing heads and mains because there is a little slop in the gear mechanism. When I get finished with this engine I'll pull apart the stands rotating assembly apart and shim it to reduce the free play in the head. I'm happy with my purchase and would have been willing to pay more for one made in the USA.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These things are great......BUT!.... This is the second one that I have purchased. Easy to assemble and VERY easy to position an engine just where you want it. HOWEVER......This is more expensive than the "old style" stands JEGS sells and yet their drip pan does NOT fit this stand. I purchased a drip pan and modified it and it does OK, but it can still leak since I had to cut it . HEY!! JEGS!! How about a drip pan that fits these?
