JEGS Part Number: 555-80532Oil Filter Cutting Tool
See what's inside your oil filter that might be damaging your engine internally. For filters up to 5-1/2" in diameter. Operates like a can opener by rotating the filter as you turn the handle to apply pressure to the cutting wheel.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Too many miles from Cutter on a variety of filters. I had a pile of about ten filters from cars, pickups, and equipment. They were oil, water, and fuel, in a variety of sizes. Two rounds on the FL-1A and she was apart. The larger heavier units might take seven or eight. Got an assembly line going and dropped the media packs in to one bucket and the metal parts in another. A lot of fluid remained in some of the shells even after an overnight drain. That went to the waste drum. The media packs make great fire starters in the incinerator and everything else gets recycled. The cutter works well and I like the arrangement. This is excellent for a racer doing inspections but only time will tell how well it will survive with volume (several hundred).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wiloner from Nice Piece I used it to open four filters as soon as I got it. It easily cut the filters with little effort. The price is great compared to others I've used over the years and the quality appears very good. You have to let it work, overtightening makes it difficult because these types of cutters can easily crush the canister. Tighten it lightly in small increments and it cuts fast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JJT 44 from Great product at a great price! I bought this several weeks ago and it does the job perfectly! Why pay more when this tool does the exact same thing the more expensive ones do? Now I've only used it once but can't imagine it not lasting for years and many filters cuts. The only unknown is how long the cutting edge will remain sharp enough to continue cutting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1Bad62 from very simple to use Used it twice now and have been very happy with it.Good material doesnt look or feel cheap at all. Only recommendation is totighten it slow. Its very sharp and if you tighten it too much it will start to crush the filter.
