Because of its unique three port construction, the balanced sleeve thermostat equalizes the system pressures above and below the thermostat's moving valve. Therefore the thermostat will only respond to system temperatures, not pressure. It also provides faster temperature response time than standard thermostats and increased coolant flow to the radiator.
