Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed after 200 miles, left me stranded Very unhappy with MSD on this one. The oem coil was fine but was the original, I replaced it with this "MSD" because I thought it was high quality. Then I saw a bunch of reviews on amazon with many other people having the same failure. Inferior craftsmanship. Cant say I didnt warn you.

I have tried the msd ignition coil with an adapter on my 2000 dodge ram 1500 with 5.2L and it ran better but burned up in an hour. Do I have to have the msd module box thing for this to work?

    Asked by: David
The MSD 121-8228 coil does not require an ignition box for use.
