Rated 1 out of 5 by from Immediate Failure I bought these msd coil packs to replace stock units on a 2011 F-150 ecoboost. The installation was quick and easy, the fit seemed good in relation to the stock units. Fired up right away and seemed fine. First time getting on the highway leaving my house, started to accelerate and got to about 45mph when the truck started to misfire badly. Check engine light came on, and truck went into limp mode. Almost got rear ended by another vehicle. Limped the truck home, and scanned with an obd2 scam tool. Indicated P0301, cylinder one misfire. Cleared the fault and swapped the coil pack to cylinder two, same problem. Replaced with the stock units, no problem. Summary: don’t waste your time or money on these.

I am looking for ignition coils for a 2012 f150 3.5 ecoboost engine. I have seen 3 different part numbers: 82575-co516, which is blue; 8257-co516, which is red; 82573-co816, which is black. Is there a difference in the performance of these ?

    Asked by: james1205
