A huge blower, a tri-power carb setup,
a big air cleaner assembly--each can lead to limited distributor choices. Until now. MSD has updated their Crab Cap for small and big block Chevy V8s.

Sitting low in the engine block, MSD's distributor is topped with their special Crab Cap that positions the spark plug terminals horizontally for plenty of clearance. The distributor can easily be tuned with the supplied springs and stop bushings. A maintenance-free magnetic pickup, which plugs directly into MSD Ignition Control, is used for trigger accuracy. This distributor is equipped with a DuPont Rynite-molded cap and rotor, as well as a heavy-duty gear, for long life.
