Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am a back yard mechanic so to speak that puts quality first in my service to others. I recently had an older gentleman with a 70 Chevelle that had electrical issues . Issues of the car not firing in the start position, electric exhaust cut out wouldn't function properly and a couple of other things due to previous fingers on the wiring. I finally got the car to fire and run smooth after a distributor cap and rotor swap .... for about 4 days then it wouldn't fire , first I replaced the coil the one your currently asking about. First off I will say I liked the smaller size and the fact that it still fits the old bracket but after hooking it up it didn't seem to fix the problem unfortunately. Come to find out the terminal on the rotor was to long and was cutting into the terminals on the distributor cap that I had just received from Jegs so I had replaced it with the old one, put it back on and done the process of elimination and checked all wires again and finally came to the module. found a shop that had a replacement and installed it, the car fired right back up . The gentleman is 70 years young and was soo excited almost jumping in happiness to hear it fire and act as it should . See his car had left him embarrassed at a major car show (Ducktail Run) in Gas City Indiana previously and the car show was coming back up quickly and I finally detailed and cleaned it up just in time for him to relax and finish making his plans then just 3 days before he planned to leave to make this 3 hour drive the power brake booster went the man was determined and drove it with no functional booster then at the car show the car failed anyway. 2 days into the show he went to drive it around and it died on him no power to the motor. It would crank but no spark one of his long time friends looked things over and seen the distributor shaft had a wobble which wasnt that bad when I had replaced the module but after the drive it had gotten worse luckily there was a swap meet there and he had gotten an HEI again it fired up again and he was able to drive it home after the show was over . So the coil you ask about performed well and I would order it again the application calls for it Thank you Jegs for your service Just thought I would put the story with it haha
