    Why does this pressure switch have three wire connection terminals ? Does it have normally open and normally closed contacts? That's my guess. Likely the package tells.

    One terminal is the + on the fuel pump, the other is to the ignition switch and the odd terminal connects to the starter relay to prevent the engine from starting in a low pressure situation.
