    This entry-level PowerHat System produces horsepower gains that range from 30% to 75% based on boost level and the engine's volumetric efficiency. It can be used on many existing OE drive configurations with or without power steering. The system can also be upgraded with optional parts for additional power (suggestions below). The PowerHat Carburetor Bonnet applies diffusion technology for maximum power output. An integrated air management diffuser element minimizes the jetting/tuning issues associated with traditional "carb hats." The design permits a near-360-degree rotation for universal fit, and the 3.2" low-profile height provides ample hood clearance.

  • Preset pulley ratio will produce about 6-8 psi at 5500 RPM on a mildly modified 289 engine
  • The included discharge tube accommodates many intake manifold heights, but high-rise manifolds may require modification for best fit

  • Quick Fuel, Demon, or Holley 4150-type 4-bbl carb with mechanical secondaries designed for ''blow-through'' applications (Rejetting may be required; #793-Q-750-BAN recommended for most applications)

  • Compressor bypass valve for all applications exceeding 5 psi boost (From Paxton: #769-8D204-001, #769-8D103-001, or #769-8D205-003)

    As a tribute to the Paxton supercharged Shelby GT-350 of the 1960s, Paxton offers current systems for Ford Mustang carbureted V8s. With HP gains ranging from 30% to 75% depending on engine build, the NOVI 1200 or 1500 nearly silent, gear-driven supercharger will yield street superiority.

    NOVI Supercharger

    NOVI SL Supercharger
    The NOVI SL (Self-Lubricating) Supercharger has an internal oil reservoir for self-contained lubrication so no oil lines are needed, and a unique transmission housing enables effective gear lubrication and bearing temperature control.

    Tech Notes
  • Not compatible with generator-equipped vehicles
  • Included air filter may interfere with some valve covers
  • Carburetor enclosure is compatible with small diameter distributor cap only
  • Throttle linkage compatible with 1964-68 Mustang only (other years/vehicles will need custom throttle linkage construction)
  • Stock compression ratio is recommended. If other than the factory manifold (standard rise) is used, a cowl hood may be needed.





    Air Conditioning
    For 1964-68 Mustang 260/289/302 with passenger mount configuration, factory air conditioning can be used by adding an optional A/C assembly (Paxton part number 4PFX110-080). For the 1969 Mustang 351 Windsor with passenger mount, most vehicles incorporate an A/C belt tensioner on the compressor support plate. In such cases, a water pump pulley and proper length A/C drive belt must be obtained.

    Both applications utilize the 1965 Mustang (York-style) compressor support, pulley diameters, and offsets. This allows the alternator, power steering, and A/C compressor to be retained; if equipped, however, the smog pump must be eliminated.


    Air/Water Charge Cooler Upgrade
    Includes charge air cooler core assembly, water storage tank, compact water circulation pump, large water cooler, and radiator mounting kit (Paxton part number 8PN301-080 with satin finish or 8PN301-088 polished).
