Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awsome replace, ment for points style distributor I purchased this distributor and it was plug and play. Works like a charm and keeps the old school look.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unusable Two of these distributors I received were unusable. Dropping in this new distributor with a matching 1.5 ohms PerTronix coil made the timing mark jump back and forth by 6 degrees at both idle and through the powerband with misfires above 3K rpm. I thought I might have a cylinder-1 plug wire issue, but the timing mark continued jumping around with the timing light attached to each wire. I suspected an issue with the distributor shaft, cam, or a bushing. Just to be sure of my diagnosis that the distributor was the issue, I installed a spare factory points distributor I keep as an emergency backup, and the timing mark was steady and no misfire issues. I set up the PerTronix distributor in the vice with a dial indicator riding on the cam. Sure enough, the cam was machined off center resulting in the inconsistent timing. I figured it was a random factory defect and exchanged it for another unit. The second unit was even worse than the first unit with the timing mark jumping back and forth as much as 10 degrees and the engine misfiring badly above 1,500 rpm. I pulled the distributor and set it up in the vice again with the dial indicator, and its cam was also off center. I sent it back for a refund. 2 out of 2 units being garbage leads me to conclude this company has both terrible manufacturing and quality control practices. This was the first and last time I purchase anything from PerTronix, and I recommend others look elsewhere. It's a shame because it's a good-looking distributor, but looks don't make an engine ignite well.
