Rated 5 out of 5 by from Installed on 1957 Chevy Installed today to replace stock starter on a new SBC DART 434 hp motor which was experiencing significant heat sync. Very easy install once clocking figured out, worked well immediately and after 30 minutes of travel under heat started consistently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for high compression engines. I bought this a month ago as I was having heat soak issues as well as slow cranking from my stock lt1 starter. The starter is smaller in length than the stock mini starter and the solenoid is on the bottom to keep it further away from the headers and heat. I was able to clock the starter to move it further from the headers although it is a little tough to move it as it is fitted tight. I did not need to shim the starter at all and it was a pretty easy install. I did stick some heat shield insulation as well as a starter blanket to keep the heat away which added to the install time. The starter spins my 383 12-1 compression engine with easy and made a huge improvement to starting as the engine fires up much quicker now.
