After reading the instructions for bleeding the Master Cylinder, I spent the next 3 hours trying to get the rear section of the master cylinder to bleed out. Upon investigation, I found lots of machining debris in the reservoirs. I decided to disassemble the master cylinder and found contamination in both the front and rear sections of the piston chamber. Found both rust and machining debris. It was obvious that the master hadn't been cleaned and inspected prior to assembly. I cleaned it and honed the bore and reassembled it, and it bled fine. Additionally the unit came attached to the booster with a preload on the master cylinder piston further making it more difficult to diagnose the bleeding problems. Also, there were no instructions regarding the proper bleeding of the system with the proportioning valve. Instructions for precluding the valve locking out, and perhaps including a locking tool would save a lot of handwringing for those of us who don't do this on a regular basis.
