Selecting the proper chute size for a race car is critical to how the chute performs. To choose the correct size, use this formula:

Formula

Weight of car (lbs)	x (multiplied by)	1/4 mile mph
(divided by) 1000
= Chute Class (recommended chute size)

Example

2200 lbs	x	140 mph	= 308,000
1000
= 308 Chute Class (Super Gas chutes: 330 or less)
