Rack & Pinion Components that Perform to Your Needs

Hot rod and specialty vehicle owners can now get safety, design, and durability in every all-new steering rack and components.

8001090-01 - UniSteer Rack & Pinions and Components is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great upgrade for the price I bought this to replace the tired old linkage in my 68. The rack is a solid piece of great quality and it bolted on in about 5 minutes and only required a bit of bending, none of the cutting and grinding some have had to do. However, the inner tie rods had to be cut to size even with stock spindles, which is unacceptable considering you can't return the rack if any modifications are made. Thirdly the hardware they provide to make the conversion for the column is some of the most ill thought of engineering I have seen. if you have a collapsible column exercise caution installing this, the bearing fits much too tightly and will eventually fail, the races had to be modified to fit the shaft, do not get this unless you have access to machinery to make precise modifications. Despite this, the rack itself is quality and works great. I recommend you keep in mind the quality of the rack paired with an aftermarket column as they suggest, I will soon be needing one.
