The Venom 400 PCM is an add on comtrol unit that features it's own micro-controller. This module is connected to the throttle position sensor and the manifold absolute pressure sensor, and by monitoring the sensors output characteristics and modifying the input signal to the vehicles existing ECU. It improves horsepower by as much as 25% from 1,000-5,000 RPM. It is OBD II compatible. It also reduces flat spots, or delays timing, and automatic transmission downshift delay under sudden acceleration. The Venom 400 uses an 8-bit micro-controller that is capable of monitoring the various sensor inputs and modifying their outputs at more than 40 times per second. It even works with other performance chips that have been installed. It has an on/off switch so that smog certification is possible without detection of the unit. Installation requires basic hand tools and only four electrical connections.
