Comp Cams® engineers have developed a streetable line of Ovate(made from oval shaped wire, as opposed to round) valve springs. Ovatesprings have more material occupying the same vertical area (installed height) than round springs, so several major benefits are realized. If coil bind is an issue, you can now either have a higher rate spring with more clearance. If reliability is a concern, the Ovate springs have been proven to last longer in identical applications.
