The lower shaft of the column matches the spline of the original universal joint. The wiring exits the tube of the column below the dash making it nearly invisible. The top shaft of our columns are the same as 1969 or newer GM passenger car. Bolt-In and Go! This column is designed to fit into your original floor support. All you need to do is specify 3-bolt or 4-bolt floor mount. Installation in early model Yamaha carts require modification of the original steering box. The original box was built with an integral shaft making the column and gearbox a one piece suit. The Yamaha columns come complete with the necessary coupler, as well as detailed instructions to modify the existing gearbox in the early model.
