UMI Performance 4th Gen F-Body Bolt-in Coil-Over Shock Kits

The most popular 4th Gen / F-body bolt-in coil-over shock kit from UMI performance is the front system with 350 lb. /in daily driver springs with double-adjustable shocks. The next most popular kit is the front system with 300 lb. / in drag race springs with double-adjustable shocks followed by the complete front and rear coil over kit with single-adjustable shocks.

The UMI Performance kit with F body coilovers uses an upgraded upper strut mount and retainer that is often unstable and prone to heavy corrosion. The installation of front 4th gen F-body coilovers from UMI Performance also allows the ability to lower the factory ride height on the front up to three inches.

Depending on the kit, the instructions for assembly will vary, and are included with each kit. For all kits, the first step is to raise the vehicle high enough from the floor to allow access to suspension parts. Next, the front shocks and springs are removed. The front upper ball joint and bolts from the top of the strut mount and the lower shock mount bolts are removed along with the mounts. Then the UMI upper mounts are installed along with the shock spring perches and hardware. The spring can be mounted to the shock and installed in the vehicle. For the rear kit, with the vehicle safely high enough in the air, remove the rear springs and shocks while supporting the rear axle housing. Next, remove the top shock nuts and install the lower bracket housings and mounts. The shock spring perches and hardware can be installed next. The UMI Performance springs can then be installed over the shocks and attached to the upper mounts as well as the lower attachment points. The rebound adjustment can be made by turning the bottom of the shock 20 clicks from "full stiff" and making adjustments two clicks at a time.
