WINCHING SAFETY TIPS Secure all recovery webbing and cables with rated Bow or ''D'' Shackles. Avoid damage to the environment. Always use a Tree Tunk Protector. Only use recovery equiment with safe load ratings adequate for your vehicle. Never use a towball as an attachment point for cable or a snatch strap. Never step over a winch cable that is under load. Never attach a winch cable back onto itself. Do not stand behind a vehicle being winched uphill. Never use a shackle to join two straps together. Keep bystanders well away when undergoing a recovery situation. Good quality recovery equipment will provide many years of service providing it is maintained.
