Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product Much better in getting the Valve-train Geometry correct than the one-piece guide plates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The product works This item is an absolute necessity when using high performance after market big valve heads. It enables the pushrod to be correctly positioned to help set the pushrod departure angle from the lifter to the rocker. I do think this being a stamping the open end of the guide plate tends to pinch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fix for old style AFR 1 piece guide plates I did the best I could with the one piece guide plates that came originally with my heads but there were three cylinders where there was enough interference with the pushrods to actually wear the plates a bit. As soon as I discovered this I went looking for guide plates that are adjustable, self aligning and don't need post install spot welding. These AFR plates fit the need: the stampings have a close enough tolerance that there isn't any fear of one of the halves turning during and after install. I see where AFR now ships these with their current heads so if you buy new AFR heads no need to buy these. For the rest of us I think these are a must have.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy to install I appreciate the excellent price and the ease of installation. The heads I purchased required guide plates to align the rocker arms properly, and I had never had to use adjustable guides before. The stampings looked a little rough, but they fit well and allowed the needed movement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing quality The set I received had the pushrod openings on one side worn to bare metal, like they were used or someone had widened them with a tool. The opening ends were a tight fit for the pushrods on some plates. Price was good but quality was low and inconsistent. JEGS was good about it and took them back for a refund. I ended up spending more on another brand and was much happier.
