Rated 2 out of 5 by from Filters Coolant Well, but Leaks Under Load I bought this item about 6 months ago in March of 2021. The installation was very straight forward and the product seemed like a good solution for filtering coolant. After following the instructions and confirming that the components were tightly screwed together, I installed it and filled my ‘11 Silverado 1500 with coolant. The product seemed to work great for the first week or so and but when I decided to push the engine hard after warm-up, the seals that are between the acrylic and chrome steel ends began weeping coolant (a very small amount, but still annoying). I checked tightness again, confirmed all components aligned but still no luck stopping the leak at high engine rpms. I think the issue is that the threaded section is a polymer that softens under temperature, thus reducing the clamp force of the assembly to the acrylic tube. My suggestion to the manufacturer is to either update the threaded connection to be all metal or make the assembly bolted end-to-end like a tri-clamp sight glass setup. Anyways, I do not recommend this product as a permanent solution with coolant filtration due to the minor coolant leak at the seal surfaces.
