Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great heads for the money; super-fast shipping Even though their price has risen substantially, these GM Vortec heads are still a great value compared to properly rebuilt GM heads or new aftermarket heads. And I'm not sure any of the Vortec copies flow as well at low lifts (up to .500") as the real GM versions. That said, my heads' valve travel was only approx .480" before the retainers hit the guide seals. I was able to increase that to approx .510" by fully seating the seals using an old seal and 1/2" socket. That's more than enough (including safety margin) for my cam's .451" valve lift.

question is what full roller rocker is compatible with these heads with stock height valve covers

    Asked by: 54mike
We would recommend these rocker arms, but you will need to check the clearance as there are many different OEM valve covers available. https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/20140/10002/-1

Just purchased the vortec heads kit #12558060k2. I am now going to purchase the lunati cam#638-10120302 for sbc 350 and my question is upon ordering can i get springs and pushrods for the 507 lift??

    Asked by: Kevin Gathers
Here is a valve spring option - http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/514120/10002/-1 You will need to measure your pushrod length for the standard length that you have.

I know the stock Chevy vortec heads were prone to cracking in certain areas. Do these heads have a heavier casting, or are they the same as stock?

    Asked by: Big Dog76
These are a later model design with some improvements to prevent cracking.
