If you're tired of drained batteries, hard starts and improper cooling with your aftermarket electric fan, consider making it smarter with Flex-A-Lite's VSC, Variable Speed Control module. The VSC uses a threaded or push-in probe to constantly measure coolant temperature to make adjustments to your electric fan depending on the conditions. The VSC can keep the fan(s) off when you start your vehicle and as the engine heats up, it can turn the fan(s) output to 60 percent. As cooling needs increase, such as for towing or on hot days, the VSC will increase fan(s) output to 80 or 100 percent to bring the coolant temperature down to the desired setting. The VSC can also increase fan output when the AC is turned on. Furthermore, when the engine is shut off, the VSC will automatically cool the engine to the desired pre-set temperature, but will turn off after a short amount of time so it won't drain the battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works just like the Flex-a-lite Rep. Said it would Bought this replacement for my 12 year old Flex-a-lite controller that finally had a terminal break off due to vibration. This runs a Ford Taurus electric fan on the high side that can pull 70 to 80 amps to start. The new design is all works great and easy to install by just following the supplied directions. Love to built in 60% voltage start feature along with full voltage in a 10 degree increase in temp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great features, improved over older model I bought this to replace my older model, which had been installed about 12 years ago. One of the fan power leads had loosened in the potted material in the controller and I had to re-seat it on occasion to get the fans to work properly. This was normally not a problem because I have an aluminum radiator, but when sitting in traffic with the ac on, the fans should be running and if not, the temp goes up fairly quickly. When that happened twice, I decided it was time to get a new controller. The new controller went in with no issues. The new design is much better. The power leads now come out of the controller instead of having a lug to plug into like the old controller (much better). Also the new controller has an adjustment for initial fan speed. You can have it come on initially at 60% or 80% rather than 100%, a nice touch. I also used heat shrink tubing over all the butt joints for a little extra water proof protection for the wiring. Overall very satisfied
